Flow Cytometry Analyzer

Our FACS analyzer (3-lasers and 8-colours) from Becton Dickinson is used for cell counting and biomarker detection. This is a laser based, biophysical technology employed for detections of physical and chemical characteristics of up to thousands of particles per second.

Flow Cytometry Facility at the Advanced Technology Platform Centre (ATPC)

A dedicated FACS facility exists at ATPC. The facility has 1) a 2-lasers and 4-colours FACS analyzer (Becton Dickinson), 2) a 3-lasers and 8-colours FACS analyzer (Becton Dickinson), 3) a 4-lasers and 10-colours FACS analyzer (Beckman Coulter), and 4) a high-end, 6-ways cell sorter (Becton Dickinson). The facility is designed for cell counting, sorting, biomarker detection and protein engineering, and multiparametric analysis of the physical and/or chemical characteristics of cells routinely used for the diagnosis of health disorders, and several applications in basic research, clinical practice and clinical trials.

BD FACSAria Fusion

The BD FACSAria Fusion flow cytometer is a high-speed fixed-alignment benchtop cell sorter. With its fixed-optics design and digital electronics, the BD FACSAria Fusion flow cytometer enables multicolor analysis of up to 16 parameters

The FACSAria Fusion is equipped with 4 laser lines – violet (405nm), blue (488nm), yellow-green (561nm), and red (633nm) and 16 parameters – forward & side scatter and 14 fluorescence detectors. Digital acquisition rates of up to 70 000 events per second and sorting rates up to 25 000 events per second are possible.

The Aria Fusion can meet a variety of needs with its range of 4 nozzle sizes 70 µm, 85 µm, 100 µm and 130 µm, adjustable dynamic range of sample flow rates, and selection of sort devices. The instrument has the capability to sort 2-way and 4-way sorting into tubes (1.5mL, 5.0mL and 15.0mL tubes) as well as single cell sorting into 96 well plates (6-, 24-, 48-, 96-, and 384-well plates).

The Aria Fusion is installed in a fully integrated custom Class II Type A2 biosafety cabinet for sorting BSL-2 biohazardous samples and for protection of personnel and products.

Temperature control system for sorted cells; A recirculating water bath is attached with the system for temperature control for sorted cell. Specially designed collection tube holders with ports for recirculating water Tube holders are available for 2-4 way.

BD FACSDiva software manages acquisition templates, experiment layouts, and compensation procedures.
