X-ray crystallography facility

The x-ray crystallographic facility houses a crystallization robot, incubators for crystal growth, stereo zoom microscopes, mar micro-beam system for single crystal X-ray diffraction studies and computer infrastructure equipped with various crystallographic and modeling softwares. The mar micro-beam system includes a GeniX Cu HF micro-beam X-ray generator, a mar345 image plate detector, a multi-purpose goniometer system with easy mount option and an Oxford cryosystems cryostream 700 cryo cooler. Olympus stereo SZX16 microscopes with LCD monitor-connected cameras are used for visualizing crystallization drops, crystal-growth monitoring and crystal handling.

For automated crystallization, a TTP LabTech Mosquito robot is used for setting up crystallization drops. RUMED 300 series vibration free cooled incubators with humidity control are used for crystal growth. Linux-based workstations with stereo 3D capability for data processing , computing, model building and visualization are available for post-acquisition data analysis and model building.

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR)

NMR Spectroscopy uses magnetic properties of atomic nuclei to determine the physico-chemical properties of atoms and molecules, providing detailed information about the structure, dynamics, reaction state, and chemical environment of molecules. Apart from routine chemical analysis (with a wide range of nuclei), our Bruker Ascend 400 MHz NMR Spectrometer is also equipped with a broadband probe, cryo and variable temperature probes to facilitate different applications.
