The RCB Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Facility has cutting-edge, high-resolution mass spectrometry systems, including the ZenoTOF 7600 and Triple TOF 5600+, integrated with a micro-LC system. These advanced instruments facilitate various proteomics applications, such as bottom-up proteomics, top-down analysis, post-translational modifications (PTMs), relative quantification through isobaric labeling, label-free quantification using data-independent workflows, and interactomics studies.
The Advanced Technology Platform Centre (ATPC) in the Bioscience cluster is equipped with the Sciex TOF/TOF 5800 MALDI system, designed for the analysis of intact proteins, protein and peptide identification, biomarker research, post-translational modification (PTM) characterization, and De novo sequencing. The facility also features the Triple TOF 5600+, which supports quantitative proteomics analysis. Additionally, ATPC hosts a Sciex QTRAP 6500+ mass spectrometer integrated with a UPLC system. This highly sensitive instrument, with its exceptional limit of detection (LOD) and limits of quantification (LOQ), is optimized for detecting and quantifying a diverse range of chemical compounds in complex matrices. The QTRAP LC-MS/MS system enables the simultaneous quantification of multiple proteins, lipid mediators, and metabolites in a single LC-MS analysis through a Multiple Reaction Monitoring (MRM) assay, making it a critical tool in biomarker discovery workflows.
