Six-Month / One Year Research Training Programme

RCB offers six-month / one year research training to four-year undergraduates & post-graduate students of biotechnology related areas from various universities/ institutions/ colleges of repute to carry out their project work towards partial fulfilment of their four-year undergraduate or postgraduate degrees.

Trainees get a realistic experience of several facets of conducting modern biological research and embarking on a research career.

Programme Structure

The duration of the research training programme is six months/one year. Selected candidates undergo research training under the mentorship of RCB faculty. They learn to carry out related research projects in collaboration with other group members in the lab. It is mandatory for trainees to attend the training for the entire duration of six months/one year. 

The scientists at the centre work in multiple disciplines at the expansive interface of life sciences and biotechnology. 

Fees & Fellowships

There is no fee that is charged from the trainees. No fellowships are given to the trainees. RCB does not provide any accommodation to the trainees. The students are expected to make their own accommodation arrangements for the entire period  of the training.

Application Process

Six-month / one year research training is offered to final year students pursuing their post graduation / four year under graduation in science or BTech/MTech students of universities / institutions / colleges.

The application must be forwarded by the Head of Department stating that dissertation is a requirement for completion of their ongoing postgraduate / four-year undergraduate programme. Selection is based on the strength of resume and evaluation of write-up on their research interests.

  1. Curriculum vitae (CV) 
  2. A forward/recommendation letter from the Head of the Department 
  3. A brief description (750 words) of their research interest
