GSBTM BRIDGE SIP

The Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission (GSBTM) sponsors a one-month summer internship programme, BRIDGE-SIP, for graduate and postgraduate students.

The programme is conducted during May and June, accommodating up to 100 students per batch, with a preference for an equal distribution of undergraduate (50%) and postgraduate (50%) participants. Each intern is assigned to one of the iBRIC+ institutes, which includes the Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB). During the training period, interns are provided with complimentary boarding and lodging at the respective iBRIC+ institutes.

The primary objective of the programme is to provide high-quality training under the guidance of specialised scientists from iBRIC+ institutes in the fields of Biotechnology and Life Sciences.

GSBTM selects eligible students from Gujarat through a written test and/or interview process. The mission also provides funding support for the programme. RCB works closely with GSBTM to coordinate the allocation of selected students across participating iBRIC+ institutions, including RCB, and assists in the administration and logistical arrangements for the programme.

*BRIDGE-SIP, represents the following components [Biotechnology (from DBT); Regional Centre for Biotechnology (from RCB); Innovation (from BRIC); Gujarat Biotechnology (from Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission) and Summer Internship Program (SIP)]. Here “D & E" are for phonetic harmony.
